Intuitive multi-touch interface
As one of the first graphing calculators to offer multi-touch functionality, the HP Prime allows users to control features simply by tapping or swiping the 3.5-inch color display. Graphs and charts can be moved directly with a finger, avoiding complex navigation through control keys. Geometric constructions feel natural and precise, as if drawing on paper.
Wireless classroom integration
With the HP Prime Wireless Kit (sold separately), teachers and students can establish wireless communication. Teachers can distribute content wirelessly, while students can view preloaded text documents. Although search within these documents is not available, scrolling allows students to read through the full content. If needed, these documents can be removed by resetting the device memory before an exam.
Customizable Exam Mode
Exam Mode allows educators to limit the calculator’s functionality during assessments. Devices can be quickly reset to a restricted state where only certain features remain available. In addition to disabling entire applications like the CAS, teachers can also restrict specific mathematical functions such as trigonometric or hyperbolic calculations. This ensures that students only have access to tools permitted by exam regulations.
Installing the exam mode
To install exam mode and other programs on your HP Prime, you need the HP Connectivity Kit. Download the latest version here (choose from 32-bit or 64-bit). After the software opens, an update is requested if the latest version of the Connectivity Kit and HP Prime firmware is not already on your device. After installation (a reboot may be required), you can restart the Connectivity Kit and connect your calculator to the device using the USB cable. It will then be downloaded automatically.
The exam score for this year’s Central Written Exam can be downloaded from the Support-Downloads section and easily dragged and dropped onto the calculator(s). This only takes a few seconds. From now on, exam mode can be started from the calculator or using the Connectivity Kit.

The best keyboard of all, and the only calculator with a touch screen. The touch screen is really great, even if you just use it for repositioning the cursor in an equation. I now find it very frustrating doing that on any other calculator.
The screen is robust and scratch resistant. Excellent hardware design, and this is from an HP nut that owns over 40 different calculator models. I am so glad that the HP brand is in good hands here.

This graphing calculator is the greatest calculator! The touch-screen works well, so I can move the graph smoothly. This calculator’s hardware is so good, but firmware is not good very much. Also, connectivity kit is bad.
In conclusion, I recommend you to buy this!

Decent enough calculator, but the geometry app just plain doesn’t work – and this has apparently been a long-running gripe,, and for crying out loud, where there some up-to-date documentation that actually matches the current system.

I have had many calculators over the years, this is by far the most powerful. With the latest update it runs Micro Python, so now has the ability to be programmed in HP PL, Python and there is also a version of Forth for it. Building applications is very powerful and allows the device to be customised for almost any purpose. The support is still available but the new content has tailed off which is a shame as this is still one of the best educational class based devices around. The PC emulation software and connectivity kit are also very useful with support in VS Code now for both Micropython and native HPPL it is a great device. Long may support for it continue.

this is the G2 version and comes in the clamshell plastic, brand new and working flawlessly. The website inoperability raised my concerns but quick shipping of the G2 made amends for all.
