HP Prime G2 - Graph with x-axis in terms of PI
Quote from pasowec on June 5, 2023, 9:36 pmDoes anybody know how to setup HP Prime G2 - Function App to plot graphs with x-axes ticks in terms of PI fractions which is logical for angles in radians instead of numeric which make sense for degrees/grads? Is it even possible?

Answer:
I don't have the physical device, I'm using only the free software version for Windows and Android but the settings must be the same.
Make sure that the calculator is in radian mode:
While in Home or CAS mode go to Settings by pressing Shift-Home or Shift-CAS buttons and set the Angle Measure: RadiansPress the Apps button and choose Function.
Input SIN(X) and press Enter.
Press the Plot button.
To customise the graph press Shift-Plot buttons to enter Setup.Set X Tick: π/4 and press Enter.
You will see this
X Tick:0.785398163398
To access the π symbol press Shift-3 buttons.
Instead of π/4 you could also input π/6, π/2, π, or 2π. Play with values to see the differences.Set also
Y Tick:1
X Rng:-5.5 5.5
Y Rng:-2 2If you want the X axis in degrees do this:
Make sure that the calculator is in Degrees mode:
While in Home or CAS mode go to Settings by pressing Shift-Home or Shift-CAS buttons and set the Angle Measure: DegreesPress the Apps button and choose Function.
Input SIN(X) and press Enter.
Press the Plot button.
To customise the graph press Shift-Plot buttons to enter Setup.
Set X Tick: 45 and press Enter.
While you see the graph, press Menu, press Zoom, press Trig.
Now press Zoom In or Out depending on how you like it.Instead of 45 you could also input 30, 90, 180, 360 .
Play with values to see the differences.
If the graph looks weird always choose Menu-Zoom-Trig command. You could also set the Angle Measure: Radians
Good luck!
